What is the default password for root in livecd ?

some times i use the Calculate Linux LiveCD as an System Rescue CD ,
each time , i must use the passwd command to change the default password for root ,
but i noticed that the default password for root is a fixed one in /etc/shadow:

root:$1$JMvNh5xg$VnV1DyJdTcwuZ0hp5YiJG0:14349:0:::::

so, is there anyone know what is the default password for root in livecd ?

Hi Frank,
User root has a password “root”, guest has a password “guest”.

thx for your answer, but for the newest livecd (css-17.6-x86_64.iso), there is no “guest” user and the root password is not “root”.

Hi Frank,
In CSS and CDS there is no guest, because It is created only for livecd at boot time. The root password is the same as root. The installer will not let you install the system unless you change the password.

thx for your answer! yes, the root passwd is “root”, it’s my fault when type in :frowning:
