2.12.b calckernel

Purpose

calckernel is a tool designed to automate the kernel compilation process and create Ramdisk.

Differences from genkernel

calckernel adds several possibilities to Ramdisk functionality:
  • bootup in interactive build mode
  • aufs and unionfs supported for the LiveCD
  • LiveCD loaded to RAM, with dynamic allocation thanks to tmpfs
  • CD unmounted once the image is loaded
  • KMS (Kernel Mode Setting) used
  • using udev for the modules to start automatically
  • automatic video card detection
  • setting up the Calculate kernel for a specific video driver to be used
Thank you!
